Sir Alex's thoughts on MUPC World Finals 2009
Sir Alex Ferguson summarised the value of the MUPC experience in helping to raise the level of football around the world.
"One of the things I love about MUPC is that young boys from all around the world get the chance to come here to Manchester United and it's like a dream come true for them. Of course they all want to win, but they can learn a lot from each other - and sometimes at this age they can learn even more from losing.
"Many of the boys including our own have had a tough couple of games, as did the boys from Salgaocar in India. Back home they win everything - and here it's been tough for them. But they have to look on that as something positive. When they go home they can assess their performance and work out what they have learned here and what they can improve.
"It's tough now, but if this experience increases their determination to succeed, it will definitely help them in the future."
